Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American actor and musician who began her career with clever raps that tackled sexuality and racial identities with a boldly comic perspective. Then she branched out to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. Following her Jazz and classical training her interest in hip-hop grew when she was an teen. In the end, she focused on her education. she earned the degree of journalist in the college as well as a women's studies major. She turned her attention to music once she graduated. Her song My Vag, a response track to Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity on the Internet in 2012. It was eventually included in her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. It also included other hit songs that went viral, such as the body-positive Queef and the winking tour of her hometown NYC Bitche$1. This latter song was directly tied to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. Her resume contained both an the musician and author. The singer was seeking for a new career path in acting. Along with early series like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films such as Neighbors to Storks. In the year 2018 she scored several breakthrough roles, such as Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. Her EP came out, In Fina We Trust in June of that year.
